Award-winning poet and writer Barton Sutter and his brother, singer Ross Sutter, will highlight the ancient connection between poetry and music with "This is the Day: Rejoicing Anyway."  This Sutter Brothers performance will focus on the spiritual response to suffering by integrating Bart's original poems with Ross's versions of songs and tunes from the Scandinavian, Celtic and American folk traditions. Jim Zarzana, English Professor at Southwest Minnesota State University, says of their joint programs: "What Ross and Bart do in performance is gradually fill the room with brotherly love." Literary Witnesses is a program of Plymouth Congregational Church, a progressive Christian community whose values include diversity, liberal theology, social justice, traditional worship and the arts as integral to spiritual life.
