Julglädje: Family Holiday Concert

 —  —

American Swedish Institute, 2600 Park Avenue, Minneapolis

Songs, stories, games, and smiles are the hallmarks of this family-friendly concert, Julglädje, which can be translated from Swedish to mean “Christmas joy.” Bring the entire family to join in the fun at this annual holiday performance hosted by the popular performer Ross Sutter.

Ross and his friends, Marya Hart on piano and Cheryl Paschke on nyckelharpa and fiddle, play a rollicking collection of Swedish and American holiday tunes that evoke the feeling of standing around the family piano. Rose Arrowsmith DeCoux leads and invites the “younger set” to become a part of a creative and adventurous interactive story set to music. New this year, Tomte Kajsa’s Story will include Skog Tomte’s, (forest tomtes), along with farm tomtes and FIKA Cafe will be serving Tomtes’ favorite food, rice pudding!
